Not much to report as yet, but I feel it’s important to give regular updates, particularly when asking for donations and appealing to people’s generosity. Trust is crucial.

I started Donate Books on the 5th of November. At least, that was when I designed and ordered the post cards which I began delivering to Liverpool homes a few days later. I’ve been thinking about starting this enterprise for at least a couple of years, but November 5th 2025 was when it became a reality.

Ten days later, and I’m genuinely surprised (and delighted) by the response. So far, I’ve received 174 books, with many more pledged. I’ve begun the process of storing and cataloguing those books and have already made several available for sale. I’m hoping that in a few weeks (and maybe just in time for Christmas), I’ll be in profit and I can begin to select local literacy causes for cash donations.

That’s it for now, but I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who’s donated so far and all the people who’ve provided encouragement and made me feel this is a worthwhile endeavour.
