It’s been one month since I set up Donate Books. In that short time, I’ve received almost 900 books from generous donors. I’ve sold almost 300 books, and I’m very close to covering my initial set-up costs. All of which means, I should be able to make my first cash donation by Christmas. It won’t be much, but it will be a start.
I’m having a great time with this project, meeting some lovely people and receiving lots of encouragement. I’m a colossal bibliophile so I take great pleasure in the books themselves. Like these wonderful volumes from Metheun’s The Little Library of Art series, published through the 1950s and ’60s.
My next update will (hopefully!) be about our first cash donation!
